The Reclassify Lease by Dimensions function is used when a lease changes Global Dimensions partway through its lifetime. It transfers all current G/L amounts related to the lease back into the same accounts, but under different dimension values. This function is typically used to ensure that opening balances align when filtering by dimensions, allowing for accurate financial reporting.

To use this function, navigate to the Lease Card, then select Actions → Actions → Reclassify Lease by Dimensions. In the request window, enter Reclassification Date (this date must be in the current period) and new Global Dimensions you want to reclassify the lease to. If you don't want to change one of the Global Dimensions, simply enter the old value. After all values are entered, click OK.

The function will create new G/L entries as a result, transferring amounts to different dimension values. The entries will be marked as reclassification entries in their description.
