How to use Variable Costs

Variable costs are used to split your expenses in different G/L Accounts. Follow the steps below to start using Variable Costs in your system.

  1. In the Lease Setup page enable the Variable Costs option and enter Variable Cost field labels.
  2. In the Lease Categories page, enter expense accounts for each used Variable Cost.
  3. Use page Variable Costs to enter or import variable costs of the current month. You must do this before monthly posting to G/L. For the import, a .txt type file is used, with each field separated by a tab delimiter. Here is an example of how the file can look like - Variable Costs Sample.txt.
